At first glance, the upcoming scenes appear to focus on Lewis giving Kev a chance by offering him a job at the café. Yet the real issue sitting beneath the surface is much bigger. The question facing Lewis is not whether Kev can hold down a job or fit into village life. It is whether sharing DNA is enough to build a meaningful family relationship.

From Lewis's perspective, wanting to know his father is entirely understandable. Most people would be curious in the same position.
