Emmerdales Joe Tate Threatens Ruby as Revenge Plot Explodes
Joe Tate’s grief turns to fury as he targets Billy and Ruby over Dawn’s death, before Clemmie makes an emotional plea that finally gets through to him.
Joe Tate’s grief takes a darker turn in upcoming Emmerdale scenes as he begins looking for somebody to blame for Dawn’s death.
After deciding to exclude everyone else from Dawn’s funeral, Joe faces an angry confrontation with Billy, who demands to know why the children are being denied the chance to attend.
Joe refuses to back down. Billy is devastated by his response and, overwhelmed by everything that has happened, turns his anger towards Ruby. He blames her for the brutal funeral ban, placing her directly in the middle of Joe’s increasingly bitter reaction to the tragedy.
Ruby heads to Home Farm and pleads with Joe to reconsider. Instead, Joe continues accusing her of being responsible for Dawn’s death and ultimately delivers a chilling threat. His grief has become focused on revenge, with Joe determined to punish the people he believes played a part in what happened.
Kim and Graham both try to reason with him, but Joe is in no mood to hear uncomfortable truths about his own behaviour.
It is eventually Clemmie who manages to reach him. She begs Joe for the chance to say goodbye to her mum one final time, and her emotional appeal finally breaks through his anger. Joe eventually agrees, offering the first sign that he may not be completely consumed by revenge.
Whether that moment will stop him pursuing those he blames for Dawn’s death is another matter entirely.
Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
