Emmerdale spoilers 5 to 9 October 2026 as Jimmy’s secrets weigh on Nicola and Carl
Carl finds Jimmy’s key as Nicola prepares for his funeral, while Gabby needs support and Charity hopes to speak with Sarah.
Nicola and Carl are each dealing with Jimmy’s absence in Emmerdale. Nicola is preparing for his funeral while still broken by his betrayal, and Carl is upset that Jimmy will not be there for his birthday. When Carl finds a mysterious key among belongings from the scrapyard, the discovery adds another question to an already painful week.
The key becomes significant after Nicola receives a call from Hotten Golf Club. Robert overhears from his place in the café, and Manpreet identifies Carl’s find as the key to Jimmy’s locker there. Sadie takes Robert to the club, where they hope to find Jimmy’s missing money.
Their search is interrupted by Nicola and Rodney arriving in the locker room. Sadie and Robert hide to avoid being seen, with neither the whereabouts of the cash nor the outcome of their search yet confirmed.
Other families are facing difficult conversations too. Laurel goes to speak to Gabby but cannot find her, unaware that Gabby is on the floor at The Hide having a panic attack. Gabby later wakes in hospital. She is emotional, but appears ready to begin taking steps towards recovery with support from Laurel and Manpreet.
In prison, Charity is surprised by a visit from Serena, who wants to discuss Sarah. Charity later asks Sarah for a private word in the back room while others wait to see whether Sarah can forgive her betrayal. Sarah and Jacob make a decision as well, though the nature of that choice has not been disclosed.
At Jimmy’s funeral, Sadie makes herself comfortable in the front row. Charles begins an impersonal speech, but Nicola stops him and decides to speak herself. After finding it so hard to prepare for the service, Nicola chooses how she wants to address the people gathered to remember Jimmy.
