Abercrombie pledges $400,000 for LGBTQ+ youth support

Abercrombie & Fitch has pledged $400,000 to The Trevor Project for 2026, with the donation guaranteed regardless of sales.

The commitment supports a charity providing suicide prevention and crisis support for LGBTQ+ young people.

The clothing retailer’s annual contribution sits alongside its Made With Pride collection and an established partnership with the organisation.

Together with customers, Abercrombie has helped raise more than $6.6 million across the partnership’s history.

The donation does not depend on shopping

The $400,000 commitment is a fixed annual pledge, rather than a sum that customers have to unlock by buying enough clothing.

The brand says it will make the donation regardless of sales.

That distinction makes the offer clearer than a general promise that a collection supports a cause.

It also means the pledge should not be described as a donation of all profits or a stated percentage from every purchase.

The wider $6.6 million figure includes support from the retailer and its customers over time. It is a partnership total, rather than the amount being pledged for this year alone.

The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people.

In the United States, trained counsellors are available around the clock through telephone, text and online chat.

Its work also includes educational resources, research and support for people helping LGBTQ+ young people.

Someone looking for information about identity, mental health or supporting a friend can explore those resources without having to buy anything from a partner brand.

The charity highlighted Abercrombie’s continuing involvement in May, including customer fundraising through its previous round-up campaign.

That campaign allowed customer contributions to support the organisation alongside the retailer’s own involvement.

The support is free, although standard message and data charges may apply to texts.

The charity’s services are separate from the clothing collection and the fundraising campaign.

Young people do not need to be Abercrombie customers, make a donation or purchase a Pride item to ask for help.
