Emmerdale spoilers for 24–28 August reveal a dramatic week in the village, with Dawn preparing to walk away from Joe on their wedding day and Caleb delivering a devastating update. Outside the Home Farm stables, Dawn is packing suitcases into her car when Graham catches her making an incriminating phone call to Billy. Graham is stunned to realise that Dawn appears ready to break Joe’s heart on their wedding day and immediately begins questioning her decision.

Dawn’s belief that Joe attempted to murder Billy is a major reason for her plans to leave. Graham then raises a difficult question that leaves Dawn unsettled: if Billy was attacked from behind, how could he have actually seen Joe carrying out the attack?

The question hangs heavily over Dawn as Graham tries to make her reconsider what she is about to do. With her suitcases already packed and Joe expecting to marry her, Dawn is left facing a huge decision.

Elsewhere, Jimmy is bitterly betrayed when he discovers that Caleb and Ruby were his rivals rather than the business partners he believed them to be. Caleb responds by offering Jimmy a little sweetener to silence him, adding another complication to his increasingly tangled business dealings.

Caleb is triumphant as he reveals to Joe that Dawn has left with Billy. He tells Joe that Dawn has taken his developing family and unborn child somewhere he may never see them again.

The revelation leaves Joe facing the collapse of the future he thought he was about to begin with Dawn. After preparing for their wedding, he is instead forced to deal with the possibility that Dawn has chosen Billy and walked away from him completely.

A wave of shock and horror passes through an onlooking crowd as news of an incident at the wedding reaches the villagers. The exact circumstances remain unclear, leaving a major question hanging over what has happened.
