Emmerdale spoilers 21 to 25 September: 5 Joe Tate shocks

Joe Tate becomes one of the biggest forces in Emmerdale during an extraordinary week that sees his grief over Dawn turn increasingly dangerous. His behaviour shocks those closest to him and ultimately leaves Ruby fighting for her life.

Here are five major Joe twists ahead.

Joe cannot finish Dawn’s eulogy

Joe attempts to speak at Dawn’s burial but cannot get through the tribute. Kim is forced to take over and promises that she will keep the family together, while Joe walks away under the weight of his grief.

Joe has buried Ruby alive

His grief then takes a horrifying turn. Joe visits a grave to swear vengeance for Dawn before it is revealed that Ruby is trapped underground inside a coffin.

Caleb learns the truth

Caleb attempts to find a weapon, but Joe simply laughs before telling him what he has done. Even Caleb’s desperate pleas fail to convince Joe to release Ruby.

Vinny confesses

Joe is then confronted with another devastating revelation when Vinny arrives at Home Farm and admits causing the crash that killed Dawn. Joe responds with a chilling silence that leaves everyone fearing what he might do.

Kim tries to stop him

Kim later visits Joe’s baby in hospital and reflects on Dawn’s life. She vows to protect the child, keep the family together and prevent Joe from making further mistakes.

Joe began the week unable to finish a eulogy, but his grief soon becomes something much darker. Whether Kim can reach him before he causes even more damage is now one of the biggest questions hanging over Home Farm.
