Emmerdale Schedule Change Before Dawn Wedding Horror
Emmerdale is off air this coming Tuesday, 25th August, as football takes over ITV just as Dawn, Billy and Joe’s dramatic wedding storyline explodes
Emmerdale viewers are facing a one night break this coming Tuesday, 25th August, and it arrives at one of the worst possible moments for Dawn, Joe and Billy. Their complicated wedding storyline is gathering pace, but fans will have to wait while live Carabao Cup football takes over ITV.
Nottingham Forest face Leeds United in the second round at the City Ground, with coverage starting at 7.30pm and kick off at 8pm. The two sides will have also faced each other in the Premier League only days earlier, meaning they are heading into another meeting in quick succession.
Dawn’s plan is already unravelling
Before the interruption, Dawn is secretly plotting to abandon her future with Joe and leave with Billy. Caleb helps Billy with money, but the plan is becoming increasingly difficult to keep hidden as Dawn battles her guilt.
Joe remains unaware of the betrayal developing around him, while Billy has doubts and pressures of his own. What should be a celebration is therefore heading towards anything but a straightforward wedding.
Football takes over Tuesday night
The cup coverage will be fronted by Mark Pougatch, while Sam Matterface and Lucy Ward provide commentary and Gabriel Clarke reports from the City Ground. With the game kicking off at 8pm, there is no room for Emmerdale in Tuesday’s schedule.
The evening could also stretch further if the match goes to penalties. Viewers planning to watch anything afterwards are being warned that later programmes could run late or change depending on the result.
A dramatic return to the village
When Emmerdale returns, Graham’s discovery of Dawn and Billy’s escape plan threatens everything. Dawn becomes increasingly desperate to stop him from ruining her plans, while Caleb also risks blowing the secret apart.
Joe is heading towards a devastating discovery as the truth closes in, while Jimmy learns Caleb and Ruby have been deceiving him over the haulage business. Events then take a tragic turn as a serious incident sends shockwaves through the village and Ramsden begins looking into what has happened.
For soap fans, Tuesday’s interruption might come at an agonising point in the story. However, the break only delays the drama for one night before Dawn, Joe and Billy’s storyline moves into even more explosive territory.
