Emmerdale has revealed exactly how one of its biggest recent stunts was brought to life, with an exclusive behind-the-scenes video taking viewers inside the making of Jimmy’s devastating wedding crash.

In tonight’s episode, Jimmy crashed his car directly into the wedding marquee where Dawn and Joe were preparing to marry. The impact left both bride and groom unconscious among the wreckage, while Jimmy remained slumped behind the wheel as thick smoke began to engulf the venue.

Now, a new behind-the-scenes video gives fans a closer look at how the dramatic sequence was created. Emmerdale’s digital team has shown how different elements of the stunt were filmed separately before being brought together to create the seamless crash seen on screen.

For Nicola, the events are particularly devastating as she is forced to confront the possibility of losing Jimmy while emergency efforts continue around them. Joe and Dawn’s wedding day has meanwhile transformed into a fight for survival, with neither yet out of danger.
