Emmerdale Missing from ITV Tomorrow as the National Television Awards Take Centre Stage
Emmerdale will not air on ITV on Tuesday 8 September as the National Television Awards 2026 take over the schedule. Here's why the soap is off air and its chances of NTA success.
Emmerdale won't be airing on ITV tomorrow night (Tuesday 8 September) as the channel makes way for live coverage of the National Television Awards 2026 from London's O2 Arena.
While fans will have to wait a little longer for their next trip to the Dales, the soap will still be hoping for a successful night at television's biggest viewer-voted awards ceremony. Emmerdale is nominated in the Serial Drama category, where it faces competition from Coronation Street, EastEnders and Casualty.
The soap is also represented in the Serial Drama Performance category, with Jeff Hordley earning a nomination for his portrayal of fan favourite Cain Dingle.
Hosted by Joel Dommett, the NTAs celebrate the biggest shows and stars on British television, with many of the winners decided by public vote.
So although there won't be a new episode of Emmerdale tomorrow night, viewers still have plenty of reasons to tune in and support the soap.
