Emmerdale Laurel Fears Gabby’s Health Content Is Reaching Dotty
Emmerdale’s Gabby storyline expands as Laurel discovers young Dotty has been viewing some of her sister’s health content online.
Gabby’s health storyline takes another worrying turn in Emmerdale when Laurel discovers that her daughter Dotty has been consuming some of the social media content Gabby has been sharing.
Gabby has become increasingly consumed by restrictive eating and health-focused ideas, while Manpreet grows concerned about some of the claims she is repeating.
Her behaviour eventually reaches a frightening point when she suffers a panic attack at The Hide and is rushed to hospital, forcing Gabby to begin acknowledging that she needs support.
Laurel and Manpreet are there as Gabby begins opening up about what she has been experiencing.
However, Laurel soon discovers that the consequences may extend beyond Gabby herself when she realises Dotty has been viewing some of her older half-sister’s online material.
Why Dotty’s Involvement Matters
Dotty is Laurel and Ashley’s daughter and Gabby’s younger half-sister through their late father Ashley, born in 2016.

The development also shows how online health content can travel beyond the person originally engaging with it.
Gabby may be struggling with her own relationship with food and health, but Laurel now has to consider what Dotty has seen and how much of it she may have accepted as reliable advice.
For Laurel, supporting Gabby through recovery remains the immediate priority. Discovering that Dotty has also been viewing the content adds another layer to the situation and gives the family a new reason to confront what has been circulating online.
