Emmerdale Kev Turns on Caleb After Robbery Goes Wrong
Emmerdale’s Kev turns against Caleb after a robbery leaves him furious, and his unpredictable response could put Caleb and Ruby’s entire scheme at risk.
Kev is set to become a major problem for Caleb and Ruby in Emmerdale after discovering just how badly he has been used. What begins as another job in their plot against Jimmy quickly leaves Kev furious and ready to fight back.
Caleb and Ruby want to force Jimmy into selling Home James at a reduced price, with Kev brought into their scheme to help weaken the struggling haulage company. Kev agrees to rob one of Jimmy’s vans after being led to believe there will be a valuable load waiting inside.
The job does not deliver what Kev expected, however, as he discovers the van is carrying around 3,000 nappies. After taking such a huge risk for what turns out to be a disappointing haul, Kev realises Caleb and Ruby have manipulated him and his anger quickly grows.
Ruby and Caleb still believe they have the upper hand because they possess CCTV footage linked to Kev’s attack on Billy. The footage shows Kev standing over Billy with a crowbar after the violent incident that left Billy in a coma, giving the couple something they can use to keep him under control.
Kev is far from willing to remain trapped by their blackmail, and he soon spots Caleb using the laptop containing the incriminating footage. Determined to remove the evidence, Kev engineers an accident involving a jug of water and destroys the device, taking away one of Caleb and Ruby’s strongest weapons against him.
The move leaves Caleb facing a dangerous new problem because Kev now knows exactly how far he and Ruby are prepared to go. Their decision to involve him in the Home James plot may have seemed useful at first, but Kev is proving increasingly difficult to control.
Things become even more complicated when Kev later drinks too much at Joe and Dawn’s joint stag and hen celebration. He lets slip to Billy that he was responsible for attacking him, potentially exposing a secret that Caleb and Ruby had been relying on to maintain their grip over him.
Caleb may have believed he could use Kev to damage Jimmy’s business and then keep him quiet through blackmail, but that arrangement is rapidly falling apart. With Kev destroying evidence and revealing dangerous secrets, Caleb could soon regret ever bringing him into the plan.
