Emmerdale Kev Exposes Billy Attack Truth After Caleb Blackmail
Emmerdale’s Kev turns on Caleb and Ruby before a drunken confession finally reveals the truth about Billy’s brutal attack and leaves him stunned.
Kev’s uneasy alliance with Caleb and Ruby is about to become increasingly dangerous in Emmerdale, with blackmail, robbery and a damaging confession threatening to bring their arrangement crashing down.
Caleb and Ruby need Kev’s help as they continue targeting Jimmy’s struggling haulage business, but keeping their unpredictable accomplice under control proves far from straightforward. The pair have something powerful to use against him, however, after obtaining CCTV footage connected to Billy’s violent attack.
The footage shows Kev standing over Billy with a crowbar after the assault which left Billy in a coma. Billy has been led to believe that Joe was responsible for what happened to him, but Caleb and Ruby now know there is far more to the story.
With Kev threatening to cause problems for their plans, Ruby reveals they have the CCTV and uses it to blackmail him into keeping quiet. Caleb also needs Kev to help with another job as part of the scheme against Jimmy, putting the volatile character even deeper into their plans.
Kev eventually agrees to rob one of Jimmy’s vans after being led to believe there will be a valuable haul waiting inside. Instead, he discovers thousands of nappies, leaving him furious at being manipulated by Caleb and Ruby.
Determined to regain control, Kev later spots Caleb using the laptop containing the incriminating footage. He engineers an accident involving a jug of water and destroys the device, apparently removing one of Caleb and Ruby’s strongest weapons against him.
But Kev soon creates an even bigger problem for himself. At Joe and Dawn’s joint stag and hen celebration, a drunken Kev speaks to Billy and apologises for attacking him. Billy is stunned by what he hears, having believed his arch enemy Joe was behind the brutal assault.
Kev’s admission could have enormous consequences beyond his battle with Caleb. Dawn has also been acting on the belief that Joe attacked Billy, and that assumption has helped push her towards desperate decisions about her future.
Billy now has information capable of turning that situation on its head. Whether Kev fully explains what happened, or attempts to backtrack after realising what he has revealed, could determine just how quickly the truth spreads.
Caleb and Ruby also face a serious problem of their own. They may have believed the CCTV gave them enough leverage to control Kev, but his willingness to destroy evidence and then drunkenly reveal damaging information suggests their accomplice could prove far more difficult to contain than they anticipated.
