Emmerdale fear for Vinny Dingle after confession to Joe Tate

Vinny Dingle puts himself directly in danger when he decides to tell Joe Tate the truth about Dawn Fletcher’s death. He has already confessed to Nicola King, but he knows there is another person who deserves to hear what happened.

Vinny arrives at Home Farm and admits that he caused the crash which killed Dawn. Given Joe’s increasingly unstable behaviour following her death, the decision immediately creates a tense and frightening situation.

Joe does not explode, Instead, he responds with an intense and menacing silence. His reaction is disturbing enough to leave everyone around them fearing for Vinny’s safety.

The confession could hardly come at a more dangerous moment. Joe’s grief has already driven him to bury Ruby Miligan alive as revenge against Caleb Miligan. Vinny has now walked into Home Farm and personally identified himself as the person responsible for the crash which killed the woman Joe loved.

For Vinny, telling the truth appears to be part of accepting responsibility for what happened. He can no longer build a future with Lewis Barton while hiding something so serious from everyone affected by the tragedy.

However, honesty does not guarantee safety. Joe has already shown that he is willing to take terrifying action against people he blames for Dawn’s death. His silence towards Vinny may be even more alarming than an immediate outburst, because nobody knows what he is planning.

Vinny has finally told Joe everything, but the consequences of that confession could be only beginning.
