Emmerdale fans turn on Vinny after Jimmy death twist as viewers predict his exit

Emmerdale viewers have been left stunned after the truth about Jimmy King’s fatal crash finally came to light, with Vinny Dingle revealed as the driver whose actions forced Jimmy off the road.

Jimmy died after his vehicle ploughed into Dawn and Joe Tate’s wedding marquee. Dawn later died following complications after giving birth to her baby son, leaving the village dealing with two devastating deaths.

Suspicion had initially fallen elsewhere, particularly on Gabby Thomas, but a flashback revealed what really happened. Gabby had been on a video call with Vinny while he was driving, and Vinny became distracted behind the wheel.

Jimmy was then forced to take evasive action before crashing into the marquee.

Vinny has since continued to hide the truth, with Gabby unaware that the incident she witnessed was actually connected to Jimmy’s death. Instead, Vinny has maintained his story that he was startled by a deer.

The revelation has caused a huge reaction among viewers, and some fans now believe the storyline could provide the route to Vinny’s departure from Emmerdale.

One viewer admitted the reveal had taken them completely by surprise.

“I will say I didn’t expect the answer to who caused the crash/deaths to be Vinny.”

Another fan was much more critical of Vinny’s recent behaviour, particularly his failure to check what had happened after Jimmy veered from the road.

“I know his actor is leaving but Vinny’s now irredeemable in my eyes. He saw Jimmy veer off into the wedding marquee and didn’t even care to check if anyone was hurt or call for emergency services.”

That appears to be one of the biggest sticking points for viewers. Vinny may not have intended for Jimmy to crash, but fans have questioned why he apparently drove away rather than stopping to see what had happened.

Another viewer wrote:

“He keeps going downhill. First it was not being open about himself and cheating, then he started lying about being beaten, then it was trying to get rid of Kev and now he seems to have left Jimmy to die.”

Others have already started questioning whether Vinny could ultimately face prison once the truth becomes known.

“I wonder if his exit is him going to prison? He’s also due to leave soon.”

Reports have previously suggested Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny, is set to leave Emmerdale after seven years. The soap has not confirmed exactly how Vinny will depart, meaning his involvement in Jimmy’s death has inevitably fuelled speculation that the crash could become central to his exit

Vinny is now carrying the knowledge that his actions contributed to Jimmy’s death while continuing to lie about what happened. Gabby already knows parts of his story do not add up, and the longer he keeps the truth hidden, the harder it could become to contain.

Whether Vinny eventually confesses, is exposed by somebody else or faces serious consequences remains to be seen, but viewers are already convinced the storyline could be leading directly towards his departure from the village.
