Emmerdale DS Thea Ramsden’s Hidden Past Revealed in Huge Twist

Emmerdale is set to uncover more of DS Ramsden’s mysterious past as Thea’s investigation into Dr Caitlin Todd’s death takes a much more personal turn.

Thea has already shown that she is prepared to push suspects hard, but upcoming scenes reveal there is far more driving her behaviour than the investigation alone. Her interrogation technique becomes increasingly intense as hidden history begins to surface.

A special flashback episode will expose part of Thea’s past and shed new light on the reasons behind her actions. The revelations also appear to connect her more closely with the Tate family, with Kim becoming increasingly significant as Thea’s agenda starts to emerge.

Thea eventually admits the full extent of her plan to Serena, leaving her closest friend shocked by what she has been preparing to do. Serena has already been established as the person Thea trusts with information she keeps from almost everyone else, but that relationship is about to come under considerable pressure.

Their friendship becomes particularly important as Serena tries to manage what Thea is doing while keeping secrets of her own. Thea knows Serena has previously kept information from her, meaning trust between the pair is far from straightforward despite their close bond.

Serena is also placed under increasing strain because of her involvement with Sarah and the consequences surrounding Todd’s death. That leaves her balancing loyalty to Thea against her growing connection to people caught up in the investigation.

The flashback promises to reveal another side to Thea after weeks of her appearing primarily as the determined detective pursuing answers. Her personal history, friendship with Serena and apparent interest in the Tates now look set to collide as the investigation becomes increasingly complicated.

Thea’s arrival has already changed the direction of the Todd storyline, but these revelations could prove that her role in Emmerdale extends far beyond solving one death.
