Emmerdale Caleb faces impossible Ruby search after Joe's cruel reveal
Emmerdale’s Caleb learns Ruby is buried alive but faces one devastating problem as Joe refuses to reveal the information that could save her.
Caleb Miligan faces an almost impossible task in Emmerdale when Joe Tate finally reveals the horrifying truth about Ruby. Caleb learns that his wife is buried underground, but one crucial piece of information remains out of his reach.
He does not know where she is. Ruby is already trapped inside a coffin by the time Caleb discovers what Joe has done. She desperately screams for help and attempts to escape, but her strength begins to fade as the available oxygen decreases.
Joe knows exactly what Caleb needs to save his wife. Instead of revealing Ruby’s location, he taunts him and leaves Caleb desperately trying to work out how he can reach her.
The situation gives Caleb an agonising problem because simply knowing Ruby has been buried does not bring him any closer to finding her. Every moment spent searching in the wrong place gives Ruby less time underground.
Caleb desperately looks for something he could use as a weapon as the confrontation intensifies. Joe remains in control of the information he needs, while Ruby becomes increasingly weak inside the coffin.
Ruby eventually begins to lose consciousness as her ordeal continues. Caleb therefore has no way of knowing how much time his wife has left even if he manages to force the truth from Joe.
The unanswered question is no longer simply what Joe has done to Ruby. It is whether Caleb can somehow discover where she is before Ruby reaches the point where rescue comes too late.
Where to watch: Emmerdale is available to stream on ITVX and airs on ITV1.
