EastEnders: What’s coming up next week? 27 to 30 July

Chelsea’s guilty conscience threatens to change several lives, Gray refuses to let prison stop him pulling the strings, George faces difficult family decisions and Linda’s new romance gathers pace in another dramatic week in Albert Square. Here’s a full look at what’s ahead.

Chelsea reaches a turning point after secretly admitting to Kim that she was responsible for Jordan’s accident by shouting at him, causing him to run off. As Ian prepares to leave for court, Chelsea becomes determined to put things right and vows to tell the truth before it is too late. Whether she can reach the court in time remains to be seen, but her decision sets several events in motion.

The pressure continues to build as Chelsea later confesses the truth about Jordan’s accident to Sheila, completely unaware that Gray could soon learn what she has revealed. Sheila heads off to tell her imprisoned grandson what has happened, while a prison brawl gives Gray fresh ideas, proving he is still capable of influencing those beyond the prison walls.

Chelsea’s ordeal is far from over. She opens up further to Sheila, who passes the truth on to Gray, allowing him to begin manipulating the situation from behind bars. As his influence grows, Sheila starts questioning whether Chelsea has really been honest, leaving Chelsea facing fresh uncertainty just when she hoped telling the truth would bring some relief.

By the end of the week, Chelsea decides there can be no more secrets. While in hospital, she confesses everything to Denise before finally telling Jordan that Sheila is Gray’s grandmother. She also agrees to arrange more contact between them, creating another emotional challenge for the family as they try to move forward.

Elsewhere, George finds himself struggling with painful memories after Eddie’s burial becomes a major issue. The difficult situation forces him to question whether his racist father should be laid to rest alongside Gloria, leaving him torn between the past and the future as those around him wrestle with the same dilemma.

Elaine tries to support George through the emotional period, but tensions remain high when he clashes with Nicola before she later lashes out at Suki and Eve. George’s emotions eventually overwhelm him during a visit to Gloria’s grave, where Jean and Eve later find him drunk. Honest conversations follow as George reflects on his troubled childhood and the lasting impact it has had on his life.

George and Nicola also share an emotional conversation at Harry’s Barn, where they finally open up about their pasts. Their discussion offers both of them a chance to confront memories they have struggled to leave behind, although it remains to be seen whether it will help either of them find some peace.

There is happier news elsewhere in Walford as Kat and Sharon spot Linda enjoying lunch with her new love interest, Clive. Linda later agrees to another date while also trying to drum up support for the community centre, suggesting there could be brighter days ahead despite the challenges facing many of her neighbours.

Sharon also has questions of her own after Elaine makes an unsettling comment, prompting her to press Phil for answers.

With Chelsea’s confession threatening to reshape several relationships, Gray continuing to play games from prison, George confronting his family’s painful past and fresh developments for Linda, Clive, Sharon, Phil, Kat, Elaine, Nicola, Suki, Eve, Jean, Denise, Kim, Ian, Jordan, Sheila, Eddie and Gloria, Albert Square is set for another week packed with emotion and difficult decisions.
