EastEnders Suki Panesar’s decision leaves Ash feeling rejected again

Ash’s attempt to reconnect with Suki brings a painful setback in upcoming EastEnders scenes, even after Eve helps them reconcile. A disagreement over parenting is followed by a decision about Ash’s stay that leaves her feeling rejected all over again.

Her return begins at an already significant moment for the family, as Penny and Vinny bring their newborn home. Vinny is called away believing Suki needs bailing out of police custody, only to arrive and discover that Ash has been arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Ash explains that she has returned to see the baby and announces plans to stay for several weeks. Penny and Vinny are surprised by the length of her visit, while Suki initially refuses to make contact with her daughter.

Eve encourages Suki to speak to Ash, helping move the situation beyond that initial refusal. However, Ash overhears the discussion, meaning she knows about her mother’s reluctance before Suki eventually agrees to talk.

That uncomfortable beginning gives their reunion more to overcome than the surprise of an unexpected visit. Ash has come back for a family celebration, but her relationship with Suki quickly becomes another issue demanding attention.

Coming up, a remark about Suki’s parenting reignites the tension between them. The subject brings a renewed disagreement, interrupting the opportunity to reconnect and putting Eve in a position where her support can help them find a way forward.

With Eve’s assistance, mother and daughter finally reconcile, offering a more hopeful moment after their difficult start. It is a chance for the visit to become about spending time together rather than continuing the argument.

Suki then explains that Ash cannot stay because she and Eve need to focus on Ria. Although she gives a reason for the decision, Ash experiences it as another rejection, leaving the practical question of her visit entangled with the hurt between them.

In later scenes, Vinny and Ash share a heart-to-heart, giving her time with her brother away from the confrontation. Suki also tries to build a relationship with her daughter, but she does not realise Ash has not forgiven her, despite their earlier reconciliation.
