EastEnders spoilers for 19–22 October: Top 10 stories as Cindy exposes Max's secret

EastEnders is heading into a tense week as Cindy Beale investigates Max Branning's private life, Denzel Danes struggles with the consequences of blackmail and Kat Slater refuses to abandon her search for answers about Zoe.

Meanwhile, Lauren Branning becomes suspicious of Ned's influence over Ian, Amy Mitchell turns to Craig, and several Walford residents face financial and family pressures.

1. Cindy exposes Max's secret New Zealand property

Cindy's suspicions about Max grow after her card is declined and she discovers a lipstick in his flat. Determined to find out whether he is hiding another woman, she investigates his private life, confronts Lauren and learns about Max's plans to buy No.31 from Gemma.

Cindy eventually discovers his secret New Zealand property on their laptop and exposes it during a viewing of the house, with Lauren alongside her.

Suki rejects Max's offer in favour of another, leaving him humiliated and declaring war on Cindy.

His problems escalate when HMRC catches up with the property, prompting Cindy to demand answers.

2. Denzel's private photographs reach Kim and Howie

Denzel's blackmailer demands money, leaving him desperate to prevent his pictures from being leaked. Nugget tries to help by stealing money from the Minute Mart, but Yolande stops them. Howie and Kim then surprise Denzel with a signet ring ahead of his birthday celebrations, only for him to pawn it to raise the money.

Craig secretly watches the celebrations and, after Amy confronts him, sends Denzel's photographs to Kim and Howie out of jealousy. His actions leave Denzel and his loved ones horrified, and Denzel later admits that he sold the ring to pay the blackmailer.

3. Kat refuses to give up on Zoe's case

Kat remains determined to find the man she believes let Zoe die. She and Alfie track down the former owner of Charlie's cab, but their hopes are dashed when they discover that police have already cleared him.

Kat vows to continue seeking justice, while Jasmine grows suspicious of her behaviour and questions Alfie. Cindy later learns about Kat's revenge plan and the man Kat believes is responsible for Zoe's death.

4. Amy turns to Craig after the photographs are exposed

Following the exposure of Denzel's photographs, Amy turns to Craig. When she mentions her upcoming inheritance, he sees an opportunity and agrees to leave Walford with her.

Amy is also looking for a way to access her inheritance early, while tensions with Jack continue. Denzel subsequently begins questioning Amy's version of events, but she avoids answering his questions.

5. Max recruits Oscar to undermine Cindy

Cindy's investigation leads her towards Oscar after she confronts Lauren about Max's plans. Max persuades Oscar to help him prove that his marriage to Cindy was never consummated.

As drinks flow between Oscar and Cindy, her suspicions are eventually stoked, adding another complication to Max's increasingly difficult situation.

6. Lauren investigates Ned despite Mark's warning

Lauren arranges to see Mark, but he pulls away after spotting Ned and Ryder. Mark insists that they keep their distance from Ned, yet Lauren later begins digging into his past after becoming suspicious of his influence over Ian.

Ryder provides a cryptic clue about Ned's former career, giving Lauren another reason to investigate.

7. Ian's new outlook raises questions

Ian leans on Ned and receives words of encouragement about his life, leaving him buoyed by their conversation. His new outlook makes Lauren increasingly suspicious of Ned's influence, particularly as she starts looking into his background. Ryder's cryptic clue adds another question to the situation.

8. Zoe is remembered at a special bingo night

Jasmine, Josh and Oscar organise a bingo night in Zoe's honour in an attempt to lift Mo's spirits. The event provides a chance for the family to come together, even as Kat continues her pursuit of justice and Jasmine grows suspicious of Kat's behaviour.

9. Gemma and Jodie struggle with their car troubles

Gemma and Jodie try to keep their car problems from Ned but are disappointed when Phil initially refuses to help. Sharon eventually encourages Phil to reconsider, and he agrees to assist Gemma with her car.

10. Nancy discovers Elaine and Ian's fling

Nancy learns about Elaine and Ian's fling, adding another personal complication to the week's developments. The revelation unfolds alongside Ian's changing outlook and Lauren's growing concerns about Ned, while Cindy's dispute with Max continues to intensify.
