EastEnders spoilers for 7–10 September reveal Kim and Howie’s emotional wedding decision as Denise receives hopeful news during her hospital treatment.
Kim and Howie refuse to let Denise miss their wedding in emotional upcoming EastEnders scenes.
The couple had been preparing to celebrate alongside the rest of Walford, but Denise’s condition means she cannot attend their planned ceremony. For Kim, the thought of marrying without her sister there proves deeply upsetting.
Rather than accept her absence, Kim and Howie make a heartfelt decision and take their wedding to Denise.
The couple head to her hospital room and marry with Denise able to witness the occasion, turning what could have been a painful absence into a special family moment.
There is further reason for hope when Denise’s doctor delivers encouraging news. A provisional stem cell match has been found, giving the family a potentially important development to hold onto while her treatment continues.
Kim and Howie later return to Walford to continue celebrating at the community centre, although their reception is not entirely trouble-free. Ryder and Jodie are discovered taking drinks that were intended for the wedding party, quickly attracting unwanted attention.
Their behaviour leaves Ned embarrassed when Kim later makes the incident known while he and Gemma are getting to know Phil and Sharon.
The wedding also takes place against the backdrop of Cindy and Max’s ceremony, but the two couples could hardly have more different experiences.
While Kim and Howie find a way to include the person Kim desperately wants beside her, Max disappears before his own ceremony and secrets from his relationship with Priya threaten to derail everything.
For Kim, however, the day ultimately becomes about family, Howie and ensuring Denise remains right at the heart of one of the biggest moments of her life.
