Sheila’s true intentions are set to be exposed when she takes Jordan and leaves Chelsea’s family facing a desperate search. In upcoming EastEnders scenes, the grandmother who claimed she wanted to support the young boy reveals where her loyalty really lies as Gray’s prison scheme moves into its most dangerous stage.

Chelsea has allowed Sheila to become part of Jordan’s life because of their family connection. Sheila has appeared determined to spend time with her grandson and present herself as someone Chelsea can depend on, but that trust begins to disappear as Chelsea grows increasingly uncomfortable with her behaviour.

Chelsea’s concern is made worse by the fact that she remains in prison and has little control over who sees Jordan. She eventually decides that Sheila should no longer care for him and asks Kim to look after her son instead.

Chelsea then arranges to visit Ian in prison, believing he could know more about the plans Gray has been making from inside. Kim agrees to care for Jordan, but the arrangement is disrupted when she learns that Denise has disappeared from hospital.

Concerned for her sister, Kim is forced to leave and Sheila quickly uses the opportunity to place herself back at the centre of Jordan’s care. She offers to look after her grandson while Kim searches for Denise, appearing helpful at the moment the family is under pressure.

Once Jordan is in her care, Sheila disappears with him and confirms that Chelsea’s fears were justified. The abduction leaves the family scrambling to work out where she has gone, while Chelsea remains unable to leave prison and protect her son herself.

Sheila’s actions appear to be directly connected to Gray, who continues to exercise influence despite being behind bars. Rather than acting alone, she seems to be carrying out a plan arranged with her son and designed to punish Chelsea through the person she loves most.

The betrayal is particularly cruel because Sheila has used her position as Jordan’s grandmother to gain access to him. Chelsea had reason to believe Sheila would place the boy’s welfare first, but taking him shows that her loyalty to Gray has outweighed her responsibility to her grandson.

Gray appears to have counted on Sheila being trusted long enough to get close to Jordan. He has also taken advantage of Chelsea’s imprisonment, Denise’s illness and the pressure surrounding the family to create the opening needed for the boy to be taken.

Chelsea begins searching for answers during her visit to Ian, who has formed a dangerous connection with Gray in prison. Ian appears to have been drawn into the arrangement through fear and the promise of protection, but he soon realises Chelsea could be walking into a trap.

Ian urges Chelsea to leave, yet an incident inside the prison prevents her from escaping. While she is trapped, Sheila is able to carry out the abduction without Chelsea warning Kim, Denise or Jack about the immediate danger facing Jordan.

The way Sheila acts suggests the kidnapping has been planned rather than being an impulsive decision. She waits until Jordan is separated from the relatives protecting him and moves when several members of the family are occupied elsewhere.

Jack is expected to investigate the connection between Sheila, Gray and Ian as the search intensifies. Ian could hold vital information about how Gray communicated with Sheila and whether the pair agreed where Jordan would be taken after the abduction.

Denise is also drawn into the rescue attempt despite needing hospital treatment. After leaving hospital with Kim’s help, she becomes determined to find her grandson, placing her recovery at risk as the family tries to follow Sheila.

Upcoming scenes will show Denise and Kim at an airport, raising the possibility that Sheila may intend to take Jordan away from Walford. Her destination and whether she reaches it have not been confirmed, but the setting suggests the family could face a limited opportunity to stop her.

Sheila’s next move may reveal whether she is simply following Gray’s instructions or has plans of her own. Her willingness to place Jordan in the middle of Gray’s revenge already shows that she is prepared to cause serious distress to Chelsea and the rest of the family.

Chelsea is likely to find Sheila’s betrayal difficult to accept even after Jordan is found. She trusted Sheila because of their shared connection to the boy, and the discovery that their relationship was used to create an opportunity for his abduction could permanently destroy any chance of reconciliation.

Gray may have designed the scheme from prison, but Sheila is the person who makes it possible outside. Her access to Jordan and ability to appear helpful allow her to act at the moment Chelsea is least able to stop her.

The family now faces a race to locate Sheila before she carries out the final stage of the plan. Denise, Kim and Jack may offer Chelsea her best chance of bringing Jordan home, while Ian could provide the information that exposes how deeply Sheila has been involved with Gray.
