Kat will be absent when the Slaters gather to plant a memorial tree for Zoe in upcoming EastEnders scenes. While the family prepares a tribute to her daughter, she remains focused on finding answers about her death.

The planting gives the Slaters a shared occasion to remember Zoe. For Kat, however, the questions surrounding what happened continue to occupy her, and she turns to Max for help.

Her approach takes her in a different direction from the relatives organising the memorial. While they prepare to come together, Kat is still looking for information that might help her understand the loss she is facing.

Max becomes the person she seeks out as that search continues. The upcoming scenes place Kat’s determination to find answers alongside the family’s preparations, showing how the same bereavement is drawing them towards different responses.

Denise also becomes involved after speaking with Alfie. She decides to approach Kat herself in an effort to get through to her, bringing another person into the attempt to reach the grieving mother.

Her intervention is directed towards Kat while the arrangements for Zoe’s tribute continue. However, when the family eventually assembles for the planting, Kat is not with them, and her absence is felt by those who have gathered.

The memorial therefore takes place without Zoe’s mother present. Although the Slaters have arranged a way to honour her memory together, Kat’s focus on finding answers means she does not join that moment.

Elsewhere, Denise hears information from Jack that raises questions about Craig’s explanation to Amy. Amy has been sending messages without receiving a reply, until Craig finally agrees to meet her and attributes his silence to work.

Amy goes out to see him with that explanation having been offered. While she is away, Jack reveals to Denise that Craig has recently been suspended, introducing information that does not sit comfortably alongside what he has told Amy.
