Kat and Alfie face an upsetting aftermath in upcoming EastEnders scenes when the Benidorm-themed surprise that was intended to cheer Kat up ends with Ria being injured. Suki is understandably concerned about what has happened and takes a firm stance over protecting Ria. The confrontation becomes emotionally difficult for Kat, who eventually walks away as the pressure surrounding the incident grows.
For Alfie, the outcome is a painful contrast to what he had hoped to achieve. His surprise showed just how determined he was to support Kat, but neither of them could have predicted how dramatically the celebrations would unravel.
Despite the difficult ending, the heart of Alfie’s original gesture remains his desire to be there for Kat when he realises she is struggling. The couple now have to deal with the unexpected fallout together after a day designed to create happy memories takes a very different turn.
