EastEnders Ash Panesar returns after arrest as Suki reunion turns frosty
Ash makes a dramatic EastEnders return after an arrest, but her unexpected arrival quickly reopens old wounds with mum Suki.
Ash makes an unexpected EastEnders return in upcoming scenes, bringing her back to Walford three years after leaving for Canada. Her arrival should provide an opportunity for a family reunion, but unresolved problems with Suki quickly return to the surface.
The Panesars are already adjusting to a major change after Vinny and Penny bring their baby boy home. Their new arrival gives the family something to celebrate, only for Ash to suddenly reappear following years away and limited contact with her relatives.
Ash says she wants to reconnect with the Panesars following the arrival of Vinny and Penny's baby. Her return comes after she has been arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour, however, while the family receives no advance warning that she is heading back to Albert Square.
Suki is surprised by her daughter's sudden appearance and becomes even more unsettled when Ash announces that she intends to remain for a few weeks. Their difficult history has left plenty unresolved between them, and neither appears ready to pretend those problems have disappeared.
The atmosphere becomes particularly uncomfortable when Suki overhears Ash discussing with Eve how she wants to avoid her. A temporary truce eventually follows, with Suki allowing Ash to stay at the house because there is not enough room elsewhere.
Ash may have returned wanting to reconnect with her family, but repairing her fractured relationship with Suki looks set to be a much bigger challenge.
