EastEnders Amy Mitchell runs from Craig after an emotional conversation

AAmy lets Craig into some of the most painful parts of her family life in upcoming EastEnders scenes, before their meeting ends abruptly. As she talks about Roxy’s death and her fears for Denise, the pair grow closer, but she runs off when he notices her scars.

The conversation follows a period in which Amy has struggled to get a response from him. Her messages go unanswered until Craig finally agrees to meet, attributing his silence to work when he explains why he has been unavailable.

Elsewhere, Jack gives Denise information that raises questions about that explanation. While Amy is out, he reveals that Craig has recently been suspended, creating a discrepancy between what Amy has been told and what her family knows.

That does not establish why Craig has failed to reply, but it leaves his account open to question. Amy, meanwhile, moves into a much more personal conversation with him, sharing experiences that go well beyond the frustration of waiting for a message.

She speaks about Roxy’s death alongside her worries about Denise, bringing a past loss and a current family concern into the same discussion. It is an emotionally exposed position for Amy, who is choosing to talk about people whose lives have deeply affected her own.

The exchange allows them to become closer before Craig notices her scars. Amy then runs away, cutting short a meeting that had given her an opportunity to speak about what she is carrying.

Her reaction does not mean she subsequently distances herself from Craig altogether. In later scenes, Amy continues to be drawn towards him and brushes off Denzel, keeping Craig at the centre of her attention despite the abrupt end to their conversation.

Meanwhile, the uncertainty surrounding Denise’s health continues elsewhere in the family. Jack becomes frustrated when she tells him a potential donor has not yet come forward for testing, and he confronts Darnell because he believes he is the person involved.

Darnell admits that he has learned he might be a match and explains his fears. Denise accepts his decision, but Jack remains dissatisfied, leaving the family facing another difficult conversation while Amy is already worried about her.
