EastEnders Amy Mitchell brushes off Denzel as she grows closer to Craig
Amy brushes off Denzel as she becomes increasingly drawn to Craig in EastEnders, following an emotional meeting and questions over his work excuse.
Amy is increasingly drawn towards Craig in upcoming EastEnders scenes, leaving Denzel struggling to get her attention. Her response to him follows an emotional encounter with Craig that ended abruptly when he noticed her scars.
Craig has already left Amy waiting for replies to her messages, before eventually agreeing to meet. When he explains his silence, he attributes it to work, giving her a reason for the lack of contact.
Elsewhere, Jack tells Denise that Craig has recently been suspended, raising questions about that explanation. The information reaches Denise while Amy is out, creating a gap between what Craig has told her and what her family has heard.
Despite that uncertainty, Amy’s time with Craig becomes personal when she discusses Roxy’s death. She also speaks about her fears for Denise, bringing her worries about the present into a conversation about losing her mum.
Craig notices Amy’s scars during their meeting, and she runs off. However, the abrupt departure does not lead to her losing interest in him, with the next development showing her continuing to move closer.
When Denzel approaches, Amy brushes him off as her attention remains with Craig. It is a different response from the openness she has shown Craig, who has recently heard her discuss some of the most difficult experiences in her family life.
The contrast gives Denzel little opportunity to connect with her in that moment. While Amy has chosen to confide in Craig, she is not showing the same willingness to engage with Denzel when he tries to reach her.
Her worries about Denise also remain part of the wider family story, with uncertainty over a potential donor still to be resolved. In later scenes, Denise tells Jack that someone who could be a match has not come forward for testing.
Jack believes that person is Darnell and confronts him for answers. Darnell admits he has learned he might be suitable, but explains that he has fears about proceeding, giving Jack an explanation he finds difficult to accept.
Denise responds differently and accepts Darnell’s decision, while Jack remains dissatisfied. Those developments continue the uncertainty surrounding her health after Amy has already spoken to Craig about how frightened she is for her.
