Corrie Fans Fear David Has Handed Jodie Another Victory
Coronation Street fans question David and Shona's decisions after Jodie's shooting, fearing she could regain control of the Platt family.
Coronation Street viewers have been left questioning David and Shona's decisions following Jodie's shooting, with some fearing the couple have given her another opportunity to control their lives.
The confrontation at No.8 appeared to bring Jodie's manipulation to an end when David discovered her collection of stolen belongings, including DS Lisa Swain's warrant card.
However, the aftermath has prompted a different discussion, with viewers wondering whether David and Shona have made their situation considerably worse.

Thursday's confrontation saw Jodie produce a gun when David threatened to contact Lisa. Shona attempted to take the weapon away, believing it was fake, but the ensuing struggle ended with Jodie being shot.
Friday's developments have left viewers frustrated by the decisions made afterwards, particularly the suggestion that David and Shona would have been better off explaining exactly what happened.
One viewer wrote: "Surely Shona and David telling the truth would have been a lot more credible and believable."

Another fan complained that the decisions had "given Jodie all the power back again", reflecting a concern that the shooting may ultimately provide Jodie with another opportunity to manipulate the family.
One viewer predicted: "Now we're gonna have Jodie lurking around the Platt's house and blackmailing them for one more year".
Others questioned whether David could face consequences while Jodie escapes responsibility.

Jodies attempts to undermine Shona, influence Lily and interfere with Doug's treatment have already caused serious damage within the family.
Even if the shooting appeared to expose her behaviour, the longer-term consequences could depend on what David and Shona do next.
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
