Coronation Street's Idris Sparks Fresh Concern As Leanne Misses Toyah's Desperate Calls

Leanne Battersby is enjoying the excitement of a new romance with Idris, but a seemingly innocent decision during their hotel break leaves her completely unaware that her family desperately needs her.

While Leanne switches off from the pressures of Weatherfield, events back home take a worrying turn as Sam Blakeman continues receiving treatment following his recent mental health crisis. Toyah Battersby urgently tries to contact her sister, only to find every call going unanswered.

The reason soon becomes clear. While Leanne is out of the room, Idris quietly silences her phone after arranging for them to stay an extra night together.

Although Idris may simply want them to enjoy uninterrupted time together, his actions leave Leanne cut off from her family at a moment when they need her most, raising questions about whether he has crossed an important boundary.

Leanne has no idea what is happening at home

Following everything that has happened with Sam, Leanne believes she can finally enjoy a short break with Idris.

The pair's relationship has gathered pace quickly, and Idris is keen to make the most of their time away together. Wanting the trip to continue, he extends their hotel stay, hoping they can enjoy another night without distractions.

When Leanne briefly leaves the room, Idris notices her phone repeatedly lighting up with calls.

Rather than waking her or letting the interruptions continue, he silences the device, believing it can wait until later.

What he does not realise is that Toyah is trying to reach Leanne for an incredibly important reason.

Back in Weatherfield, Toyah is concentrating on supporting Nick Tilsley and Sam during an incredibly difficult period.

Recognising that Leanne would want to know what is happening, Toyah repeatedly tries to get hold of her sister.

With no idea Idris has silenced the phone, Toyah begins to fear that Leanne has chosen romance over family.

Did Idris make an innocent mistake?

His actions prevent Leanne from making an informed decision herself.

Had she seen Toyah's missed calls, she may have immediately returned home or contacted Nick to find out what was wrong.

As Toyah's frustration grows, she eventually tracks Leanne down herself.

The confrontation quickly becomes emotional.Toyah believes Leanne has ignored repeated attempts to contact her, while Leanne is left stunned when she discovers she knew nothing about the calls.

It soon becomes clear that Idris's decision has created a misunderstanding neither sister expected. Rather than deliberately choosing her new relationship over her family, Leanne simply never had the opportunity to answer.

Even so, the damage has already been done, leaving Idris facing difficult questions about why he felt it was acceptable to interfere with Leanne's phone.

Every new relationship has moments that test trust, and this could prove to be one of the biggest challenges Idris and Leanne have faced so far.

Leanne has endured more than her fair share of emotional upheaval over the years, meaning honesty and communication are likely to be especially important as this new romance develops.

Although Idris may genuinely believe he was helping them enjoy uninterrupted time together, relationships are often built on respecting each other's choices.
