Coronation Street Taken Off Air Tomorrow for National Television Awards

Coronation Street fans will notice a change to ITV's schedule tomorrow night (Tuesday 8 September), with the soap making way for live coverage of the National Television Awards 2026.

The annual ceremony, hosted by Joel Dommett, will be broadcast live from London's O2 Arena, bringing together some of the biggest names in British television for a night of celebration.

Despite the break from Weatherfield, Coronation Street will be well represented at the awards. The soap is nominated in the Serial Drama category alongside Emmerdale, EastEnders and Casualty.

There is also double recognition in the Serial Drama Performance category, with Sue Devaney nominated for her portrayal of Debbie Webster and Gareth Pierce recognised for his role as Todd Grimshaw.

With three nominations across the evening, Corrie fans will be hoping the soap and its stars can come away with some of the night's biggest prizes, even though there won't be a new episode airing tomorrow.
