Coronation Street stars joined Manchester Pride 2026 for huge city parade

Coronation Street stars joined thousands of people at Manchester Pride 2026 yesterday, as ITV Pride once again took part in the celebrations across the city.

Familiar Corrie faces joined ITV colleagues for the Manchester Village Pride Parade on Saturday 29 August, with the event bringing together LGBTQ+ groups, charities, businesses, performers and supporters.

Among those taking part were Coronation Street stars including Jodie Prenger, Vicky Myers, Antony Cotton, Catherine Tyldesley, Julia Goulding, Olivia Frances Brown, Rob Mallard, Tony Maudsley, Sue Devaney, Ryan Prescott, Peter Gunn and Lucy Fallon.

Despite the wet Manchester weather, the cast were pictured embracing the celebrations, having fun, waving Pride flags and joining the crowds as the parade travelled through the city.

The Manchester Village Pride Parade made its way through Manchester city centre before heading back towards the Gay Village. Thousands lined the route, while community organisations and LGBTQ+ groups joined businesses and other supporters in the parade.

For Coronation Street, Manchester Pride remains particularly close to home. The ITV soap is filmed in Greater Manchester and has featured LGBTQ+ characters and storylines throughout its history, while members of the cast have regularly supported Pride events and ITV Pride.

ITV Pride brought together people from across the broadcaster for Saturday’s celebrations, with the Coronation Street stars joining colleagues from across ITV as the group made its way through Manchester.

Manchester Pride also entered a new era in 2026, with Manchester Village Pride CIC delivering the event following major changes behind the scenes last year.

The community led organisation put the Gay Village and local LGBTQ+ groups at the centre of the celebrations while keeping the parade as one of the Bank Holiday weekend’s major events.

Away from Saturday’s parade, Manchester’s Gay Village has been hosting live music, drag, DJs, cabaret and community events throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

Celebrations continue today before the traditional Candlelit Vigil takes place in Sackville Gardens on Monday evening, bringing people together for one of the most reflective parts of Manchester Pride.

Although Manchester brought plenty of rain for Saturday’s parade, it did little to dampen the spirits of the Manchester massive.

Crowds still packed the route, Pride flags filled the streets and those taking part threw themselves into the celebrations, proving that a bit of wet weather was never going to stop Manchester showing up for Pride
