Coronation Street spoilers 7–11 September: Kit’s diagnosis, Doug returns and Betsy faces fresh fear
Coronation Street has an emotional week ahead as Kit receives a cancer diagnosis, Doug returns to Weatherfield and Betsy suffers a worrying health scare.
Coming up in Coronation Street from 7–11 September, several major storylines move forward as Kit receives a stage-three breast cancer diagnosis, Doug suddenly returns to Weatherfield and Betsy faces another frightening health scare.
Kit is given devastating news when doctors confirm that he has breast cancer which has spread to his lymph nodes. He is left trying to process the diagnosis while also deciding when and how to tell the people closest to him.
Bernie quickly senses that something is troubling her son, although she does not yet know what he is facing. Kit also has other worries hanging over him after a mystery person is seen leaving his bedroom, leaving him weighed down by guilt and giving Bernie even more reason to question his behaviour.
His health remains a concern as the week continues. After colliding with Ross, Kit suddenly clutches his chest in pain, before later admitting to Todd that he has a CT scan appointment coming up.
Todd gently encourages Kit to tell his family about the cancer rather than dealing with everything alone. Kit is clearly not ready to have that conversation yet, but the pressure of keeping such serious news to himself is becoming increasingly difficult.
Elsewhere, Debbie marks her birthday surrounded by the people she loves. During the celebration, she thanks everyone for their support before making an emotional declaration about Ronnie and telling him that he is the love of her life.

Jodie also finds herself at the centre of a tense new situation after being dumped by Kit. She lets herself into Sarah’s flat and overhears a conversation that leaves her stunned, before later beginning to use what she has discovered.
Bethany soon finds herself dealing with Jodie’s games, while Jodie goes further by arranging a prison visit with Sarah because she has something she wants to reveal. Her plans are then interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Doug.
Doug later asks Shona whether there is any possibility of repairing their relationship. However, he also becomes disturbed by Jodie’s behaviour after catching her pretending to be Shona and noticing the way she looks at David.

Betsy has her own emotional week as Dylan admits how terrible he feels about what happened. Sally then finds details of a local fashion course which could give Betsy another route towards the future she wanted, but her optimism is shaken when sudden head pain leaves her frightened that she could be suffering another stroke.
Lucy also struggles with missing her mum’s funeral, while Sally is faced with another concern when Lucy encourages Shanice to head out alone to buy sweets.
