Coronation Street newcomer Marco makes bold move on Summer

Coronation Street newcomer Marco Rhodes is set to make an immediate impression when he arrives in Weatherfield and sets his sights on Summer.

Played by William Teasdale, Marco first crosses paths with Summer outside the tattoo shop, where their introduction gets off to a decidedly awkward start. Summer believes Marco has stolen one of her designs and wastes no time confronting him about it.

However, Marco soon reveals that things are not quite as they seem. He admits the apparent theft was actually an excuse to see Summer again, making it clear that he had already noticed her and deliberately found a reason to get her attention.

Rather than dismissing Summer’s artwork, Marco tells her that he would like to buy the drawing. His interest then becomes even more obvious when he suggests that they meet for a drink, turning what began as an angry confrontation into a possible new connection.

Marco’s unusual approach clearly makes enough of an impression for Summer to give him another chance. She later tells Asha and Amy that she has agreed to go on a date with him, confirming that the newcomer will not disappear after their first encounter.

Summer is not completely convinced, though. While talking to her friends, she admits that she still has reservations about Marco, suggesting his unusual introduction has left her with plenty to think about.

For Marco, winning a date is only the first hurdle. Summer may have agreed to meet him, but her conversation with Asha and Amy makes clear that he still has some work to do if he wants to convince her that his interest is genuine.

Whether Summer’s doubts quickly disappear or prove to be an early warning remains to be seen, but Marco’s unusual first move has certainly ensured she will not forget their introduction in a hurry.
