Coronation Street Lucy’s real plan could spell trouble for Sally and Tim

Lucy’s increasingly difficult relationship with Sally Metcalfe has sparked a new Coronation Street theory that there could be more behind her behaviour than Sally and Tim realise.

The couple have been trying to provide Lucy with stability following everything she has been through, but Sally is beginning to question whether they are really able to give her the support she needs. Lucy’s behaviour towards her has been particularly difficult, leaving viewers wondering whether the tension could be building towards something bigger.

One theory being discussed among fans is that Lucy could deliberately be making life difficult for Sally and Tim. Some viewers have questioned whether she wants the current family arrangement to break down, potentially explaining why Sally appears to receive so much of her anger.

There is no confirmation that Lucy has a calculated plan, however, and upcoming scenes provide another possible explanation for what Sally is witnessing.

Sally becomes concerned when she discovers a drawing Lucy has made of an angry woman clutching her head. She gently asks whether the woman is supposed to represent Rachel, but Lucy reacts furiously to the suggestion.

Lucy later apologises for her outburst and begins keeping a grief journal, potentially offering her a different way of processing her feelings about her mum. Her developing friendship with Shanice also shows a softer side to her as the two youngsters grow closer.

Those developments could weaken the theory that Lucy is deliberately trying to cause problems. Her behaviour may instead reflect grief and anger that she is struggling to express, with Sally finding herself on the receiving end because of the complicated situation they have all been placed in.

There is still another mystery hanging over Lucy, however. Christina Boyd is left shaken after discovering that Rachel Parkinson was her mother, suggesting there could be important information about Lucy’s past that Sally and Tim do not yet know.

Whether Lucy really has an agenda or viewers have mistaken a grieving youngster’s behaviour for something more calculated remains unanswered. What Christina knows about Rachel could eventually provide the missing context that Sally and Tim desperately need.
