Coronation Street Lucy’s disturbing drawing raises new Rachel mystery
Coronation Street’s Lucy leaves Sally concerned with a disturbing drawing as questions about Rachel grow and another mystery begins to emerge.
Lucy’s feelings about her late mum come under fresh scrutiny in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when Sally Metcalfe discovers a troubling drawing.
Sally notices that Lucy has drawn an angry-looking woman clutching her head and is immediately concerned by what she sees. Wondering whether the picture could represent Rachel, Sally asks Lucy if the woman is supposed to be her mum.
The question triggers a furious reaction from Lucy, leaving Sally even more worried about what the youngster could be struggling to express.
The drawing could prove particularly significant because viewers still know relatively little about Lucy’s feelings towards Rachel. While it would be easy to assume the picture represents her mother, Coronation Street has not confirmed who Lucy has drawn or exactly what the image means.

Lucy’s reaction may therefore be more revealing than the picture itself. Rather than explaining what she has created, she becomes angry when Sally connects it to Rachel. That could suggest Sally has touched on something particularly painful, although grief alone could equally explain why Lucy finds the question so difficult.
Later, Lucy apologises for the way she reacted and begins keeping a grief journal. The move could give her a safer way to put feelings into words that she has previously struggled to communicate with Sally and Tim.
The scenes arrive as another mystery involving Rachel begins to develop elsewhere. Christina Boyd discovers that Rachel Parkinson was Lucy’s mother and is visibly shaken, despite the reason for her reaction remaining unclear.

Both developments place Rachel firmly back at the centre of the story and suggest viewers may be about to learn considerably more about Lucy’s relationship with her mum.
For Sally, understanding what the drawing means could be less important than recognising what Lucy is trying to communicate. Her decision to start writing about her grief may finally offer Lucy an opportunity to express some of the emotions she has been keeping inside.
