Coronation Street Lily Platt turns on Shona as Jodie wins

Shona faces a painful confrontation with Lily in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, as Jodie’s growing influence reaches further into the family. Lily accuses Shona of always putting Harper first, then praises Jodie for making time for her.

For Shona, the comparison comes when she is already beginning to feel pushed aside in her own home. Jodie has been making herself useful while secretly working against her sister.

An earlier moment captures that growing discomfort when Shona returns from work. She finds Jodie looking after Harper while David does the washing-up, leaving her feeling excluded from the domestic scene in front of her.

Jodie is also finding ways to spend more time with David. After claiming that a date has cancelled on her, she turns on the tears and persuades him to join her for a drink.

Lily’s complaint adds another personal blow for Shona. Alongside her worries about her place in the household, she now has to hear that Lily feels overlooked.

The accusation does not establish that Shona has deliberately neglected her. It does, however, show how differently Lily views the attention she receives from Jodie.

That distinction suits Jodie, who is eager to be seen as the person everyone can depend on. Her sister’s distress gives her another opportunity to enjoy the position she has created.

Lily openly credits Jodie with finding time for her while confronting Shona about Harper. Shona is left feeling guilty, as Jodie takes satisfaction in the way her plans are progressing.

Coronation Street continues on ITV1. Episodes are also available on ITVX.
