Coronation Street Kit puts himself at risk as cancer struggle takes toll

Kit Green’s attempts to cope alone following his stage three breast cancer diagnosis begin taking a worrying toll in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.

Kit was left completely blindsided after doctors confirmed he has breast cancer and explained that further tests would be needed to determine the best treatment plan. Todd is currently one of the only people who knows the truth, after Kit admitted his diagnosis but insisted he did not want the rest of his family to know.

Rather than reaching out for support, Kit tries to bury what he is going through. He attempts another date, but when he takes the woman back to the flat and she tries to kiss him, Kit admits he is not in the right headspace and she storms out.

Bethany emerges afterwards, adding another uncomfortable moment following the night she and Kit previously spent together. Kit is also trying to leave that behind and later encourages Bethany towards Ryan.

Things become more concerning at work when Lisa puts pressure on Kit to find Luke Cookson’s killer. Unaware of his diagnosis, she is alarmed when Kit snaps at her and becomes worried enough to speak to Bernie about his behaviour.

Kit then throws himself into the murder investigation and puts himself at risk while pursuing a young suspect. In an emotionally charged confrontation, he accuses the lad of killing Luke, despite him being innocent.

Later, Kit arrives at a family pizza night sporting two black eyes, immediately worrying Bernie. Hoping to lift her son’s spirits, she tells him she feels positive about her own cancer tests and believes she will receive the all-clear.

With Bernie talking openly about her own fears while Kit secretly faces cancer himself, the pressure on him to finally tell his mum the truth is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

Coronation Street continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
