Coronation Street Jodie’s behaviour leaves Doug deeply disturbed
Doug catches Jodie pretending to be Shona before becoming unsettled by the way she looks at David, raising fresh concerns over what she is doing.
Jodie’s behaviour takes another unsettling turn in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when Doug catches her pretending to be Shona. His concern only grows when he notices the way Jodie looks at David, leaving him deeply disturbed by what he is witnessing.
Doug has only just returned to Weatherfield and is already trying to rebuild a fractured relationship with his daughters. Instead of easing slowly back into family life, he quickly finds himself confronted by behaviour from Jodie that he does not understand.
The moment catches him off guard because Jodie is not simply joking around or making a passing comment. Seeing her present herself as Shona raises immediate questions about what she is doing and why she appears so comfortable slipping into her sister’s identity.
Doug’s unease deepens when he notices Jodie around David. The way she looks at him leaves Doug disturbed, suggesting that he is beginning to suspect there may be far more going on beneath the surface than he first realised.
For Jodie, the timing is especially significant because she is already carrying several secrets and grievances. She has recently been dumped by Kit, has uncovered damaging information involving Bethany and Sarah, and has started using what she knows to put pressure on the people around her.
Doug’s arrival therefore places someone new in the middle of everything. He does not yet understand the full extent of what has been happening, but he is close enough to Jodie to notice when something feels wrong.
That creates an intriguing new dynamic because Doug is hardly returning from a position of trust. Shona and Jodie both have every reason to be wary of him, yet he may now be the one spotting behaviour that everyone else has either missed or dismissed.
David’s place in the situation makes matters even more complicated. Doug has only just begun reconnecting with Shona, and seeing Jodie apparently fixated on David is unlikely to make him feel any more comfortable about the family he has walked back into.
Jodie has already shown that she is capable of acting impulsively when she feels rejected or angry. Doug’s concern suggests that her behaviour may now be moving into territory that even he finds difficult to ignore.
Whether he confronts Jodie directly or decides to warn Shona remains to be seen. Either way, his return is no longer simply about trying to repair his own relationship with his daughters, because he is beginning to see signs that something else may be seriously wrong.
