Coronation Street Doug makes disturbing Jodie discovery

Doug’s unexpected return to Coronation Street could become a major problem for Jodie after he witnesses behaviour that immediately leaves him unsettled.
Upcoming scenes see Doug catch Jodie pretending to be Shona. Rather than dismissing it as another strange moment, he is clearly disturbed by what he sees and begins paying closer attention to his daughter.
What troubles Doug even more is the way Jodie looks at David. Her fixation on Shona’s husband has already raised uncomfortable questions, and Doug’s reaction suggests he may recognise something in her behaviour that the rest of the family has yet to fully understand.
That could make Doug an important threat to Jodie.
Jodie has spent weeks manipulating events around Shona while presenting herself as the helpful sister. If Doug starts questioning her motives, she could suddenly have somebody close enough to recognise that her behaviour is far from normal.
Shona is stunned by her father’s arrival for very different reasons. Doug asks whether they can repair their relationship, meaning she must decide whether she is prepared to let him back into her life.
The timing may prove crucial. Shona desperately needs somebody who can see what Jodie is doing, and Doug could potentially become the first person to realise that his daughter is not simply behaving strangely.
Whether Shona is ready to trust him again is another matter entirely.
