Coronation Street Betsy struggles as loving mum Lisa comforts her
In today’s Coronation Street, Betsy feels pushed aside during Lauren’s visit before opening up to mum Lisa about how much she is struggling.
Betsy Swain is struggling in today’s Coronation Street, but mum Lisa is there when everything becomes too much.
Lauren Bolton visits with baby Frankie, but spends much of her time together messaging Ollie. Betsy is already having a difficult time following her stroke, and seeing Lauren so caught up in her new relationship leaves her feeling even more left out.
Lisa later arrives home with a quiche and is surprised to see Lauren and Frankie there. Lauren soon has to leave to make Frankie’s dinner, leaving Lisa and Betsy alone together.
It is then that Betsy finally tells her mum what has been upsetting her. She feels Lauren’s life is now all about her new boyfriend Ollie, and worries her friend is only visiting because she feels she has to.
Lisa sits beside Betsy on the sofa and listens as her daughter gets everything off her chest.
Betsy is Lisa’s whole world, and that comes through clearly in the scene.
Seeing her daughter struggling after her stroke is hard for Lisa too, but her focus is entirely on Betsy and making sure she feels heard, loved and supported.
It is a warm mother and daughter moment that shows just how close they are. Lisa loves Betsy with all her heart, and when her daughter is hurting, she is right there beside her.
