Coronation Street 11 to 16 October Bethany pressures Kit

Bethany Platt is left horrified when she discovers Kit has breast cancer in Coronation Street, before the pressures surrounding Sarah’s trial lead her back to him.

Bethany and Todd visit Sarah, who tells them she understands Kit’s decision not to help her. Todd then blurts out that Kit has breast cancer, leaving Bethany horrified and Sarah reeling from what she has just learned.

Kit is meanwhile at the hospital, where Bernie offers support as they talk about stories from his childhood. He prepares for his first chemotherapy session as Brody arrives to see him.

Sarah’s trial then starts, with Todd taking the stand and defending her. Bethany later becomes upset and hurries out of the courtroom before returning home and putting pressure on Kit to do the right thing, while Sarah eventually takes the stand herself and gives evidence.

Elsewhere, the bistro faces a serious problem when Tracy furiously accuses Leanne of poisoning her family with undercooked food. Idris fields complaints from customers with food poisoning while Ollie conducts a full inspection of the kitchen.

Ollie discovers that all of the meat served the previous night was past its sell-by date. Leanne realises Nick was responsible for the delivery, raising the unresolved question of whether it was an honest mistake or whether he could be sabotaging their business.

Nick later reveals that they can no longer afford to pay their meat supplier and have been reduced to buying meat from Freshco. Leanne suggests they should cut their losses and sell, before Toyah confronts her and claims she has worked out that Leanne and Idris are sabotaging the bistro so they can buy it for a knock-down price.

Idris later takes another opportunity to wind Nick up when he arrives at Speed Daal. He suggests that both Nick’s relationship with Sam and his business are on their knees.

Debbie also becomes increasingly suspicious after watching Ronnie talking with Ryan at the Chariot Square. Ronnie thanks Ryan for finding work for Debbie and keeping her busy, but Debbie later tells Abi she believes Ronnie is seeing somebody else and plans to put her in a care home.

Abi then sees Ronnie in Victoria Garden with his arms around another woman. Elsewhere, Ross returns from the local boxing gym and suggests to Tyrone that they should go every week, but Tyrone turns him down and Ross is left annoyed.

Bethany’s discovery comes during an already difficult week for Sarah and Kit, while fresh questions emerge across several other Weatherfield storylines.
