Channel 4 Wants New TV Stars for Bake Off, First Dates and More

Ever watched a television programme and thought you could do better? Channel 4 is inviting members of the public to explore casting opportunities for some of its best-known shows, from The Great British Bake Off and First Dates to ambitious property renovations and new entertainment formats.

Whether you’re looking for love, hoping to show off your baking skills or planning an extraordinary building project, the broadcaster’s official casting directory features opportunities for people with very different stories to tell.

Could you be the next Bake Off star?

The Great British Bake Off is searching for amateur bakers willing to test their skills in the famous white tent. Applications for series 18 are advertised with a closing date of 1 December 2026, giving hopeful contestants an opportunity to put themselves forward.

Meanwhile, Countdown is looking for people who enjoy word games, numbers challenges and solving conundrums under pressure. Those interested can explore the programme’s casting information through Channel 4’s official directory.

Looking for love or ready to share your story?

Single people hoping to find romance can explore opportunities to appear on First Dates, where strangers meet over dinner to discover whether a connection might develop.

Channel 4 also lists Virgin Island, which is seeking people experiencing difficulties with intimacy for a possible new series. The programme explores personal relationships and the challenges participants face when forming intimate connections.

Music lovers may be interested in Your Song, presented by Alison Hammond. The format invites people to perform songs with special personal significance, sharing the stories and memories behind their choices.

Property programmes want homeowners and house hunters

Channel 4’s property programmes are also seeking people with ambitious plans, unusual homes or hopes of finding somewhere new to live.

Location, Location, Location offers house hunters the opportunity to receive help from Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer, while A Place in the Sun follows buyers searching for properties overseas.

Those undertaking unusual building projects can explore opportunities with George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, George Clarke’s Building Home and George Clarke’s Beautiful Builds.

Other programmes featured in the casting directory include Can’t Sell Must Sell, A New Life in the Sun and Chateau: DIY.

For anyone planning to restore an abandoned European village, hamlet or large settlement, Help! We Bought a Village has also advertised casting opportunities, although applicants should check whether a new recruitment round is currently available.

Could your dispute become a television programme?

Among the newer formats listed is The Court, a programme seeking people involved in civil disputes who may be interested in resolving their disagreement through a televised legal process.

The casting opportunity is particularly unusual because it concerns real disputes rather than a traditional entertainment competition.

Applicants should read the programme’s eligibility requirements and legal information carefully before deciding whether to participate.

How can you apply for a Channel 4 programme?

The broadcaster brings its casting opportunities together on its official website, where viewers can find programme information and follow instructions from the relevant production teams.

Visit Channel 4’s official Take Part page to explore casting opportunities and apply.

Each programme has its own eligibility requirements, application process and closing date. Some are recruiting for confirmed series, while others are seeking participants for programmes still in development.

The directory also includes previously advertised opportunities, so applicants should check that the relevant casting round is still accepting submissions before sharing personal information.

Casting information reviewed on 28 October 2026. Programme availability and application deadlines may change, so readers should consult the official Channel 4 website for the latest details.
