Canton Pride 2026 Begins in Cardiff With Three Days of LGBTQ+ Celebration

Canton Pride 2026 is getting under way in Cardiff today, launching its first ever weekend dedicated to LGBTQ+ music, film, art, community and celebration.

Running from 4 to 6 September, the new community Pride event is bringing together artists, performers, local organisations and LGBTQ+ people across a packed three-day programme in Canton.

The weekend includes live music, film, art, social events and performances across several Canton venues, giving visitors the option to attend individual events or take part throughout the whole weekend.

Friday marks the official start of Canton Pride, with an opening programme featuring Welsh folk artist Cerys Hafana, Jordan Price Williams and Bagad Grwndi alongside Cardiff Queer Orchestra.

The celebrations continue into Saturday, when Chapter becomes one of the main venues for the festival.

A Queer Art Market will give LGBTQ+ artists and makers an opportunity to showcase their work, while the wider programme includes music, performance and community events.

One of Saturday evening’s headline events features Tom Rasmussen alongside DYVR and DJ Raven at Chapter, bringing live performance and club culture into the festival programme.

Film is also part of Canton Pride’s first weekend, adding another creative element alongside the event’s music, art and community activities.

Launching a new Pride celebration is a significant moment for any local LGBTQ+ community, and Canton Pride is starting with a programme built around creativity, visibility and bringing people together.

With its first ever festival now officially beginning, Canton Pride is adding another LGBTQ+ celebration to Cardiff’s growing calendar of community events.
