Big Brother hits 12.7 million streams as viewing rises

Big Brother has reached 12.7 million streams on ITVX, up 50% on the comparable stage of last year’s series. The figures compare its current total with 8.5 million streams after 13 episodes in 2025.

The streaming growth comes alongside stronger television audiences during the second week. Five of the six episodes increased their audiences year on year, while viewing among 16 to 34-year-olds rose 17% across the opening two weeks.

The episode on Sunday 27 September attracted 645,000 viewers. That was 187,000 more than the equivalent episode last year, a rise of 41%.

Excluding launch episodes, it was Big Brother’s largest television audience since 2024. Companion show Big Brother: The Group Chat also recorded its biggest audience so far that night, with 244,000 viewers.

This year’s series runs for eight weeks, with AJ and Will returning to host. That longer run gives the housemates more time to navigate tasks, nominations and live evictions before the winner is chosen.

The latest results cover the opening stages of that extended series. They provide an early measure of its audience, rather than a verdict on how the full eight weeks will perform.

The figures were released on 28 September and show growth across streaming and broadcast viewing. The 12.7 million total counts streams, so it does not represent 12.7 million individual people.

UK broadcast and streaming: Already airing on ITV2 and ITVX, Sunday to Friday. The usual evening slot is 9pm; individual episode times can vary.
