Almost Out Loud puts Leah under pressure as Mara stays close
Almost Out Loud Episode 2 Thin Walls puts Leah under pressure at home as Mara becomes the person she can lean on.
Almost Out Loud Episode 2, officially titled Thin Walls, puts Leah under pressure at home before a difficult night brings her and Mara closer again. The episode reveals more about Leah’s family situation while continuing the slow-burn connection between the two women.
Leah’s mother warns her about Zoe
Leah’s mother sees her with Zoe and quickly becomes worried about what other people might say. She tells Leah that Zoe should stop coming to the house and asks her not to let anyone see them together.
Leah insists she has done nothing wrong, but her mother brings her father into the conversation. His health is already causing concern, and she makes clear that she does not want him finding out.
Leah struggles with everything at home
Later, Leah goes out with Mara, but the evening becomes emotional when the conversation turns to her father. Leah admits it has been a difficult week and that hearing him sound so weak on the phone has affected her.
Mara stays with her and makes clear that Leah does not have to pretend she is okay. Leah then admits there are things she has never told her father, while the thought that there may still be time to do so only makes the situation more frightening.
Mara and Leah grow closer
The difficult conversation gradually gives way to their familiar humour. Their Alice in Wonderland language returns with another reference to falling down the rabbit hole, showing how naturally they still understand each other.
As they say goodnight, Mara mentions how thin the walls are. Leah asks whether that is a warning or an offer, and the exchange ends with a simple answer: “An offer.”
