Abigail steps up as Nancy suffers frightening MS relapse

Nancy’s Multiple Sclerosis storyline returns to the forefront in Hollyoaks as she suffers a worrying relapse while at school.

The character was first diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS in 2017, meaning she can experience flare-ups followed by periods of recovery. Upcoming scenes bring that long-running health story back into focus when Nancy suddenly becomes unwell during the school day.

Dee Dee quickly realises something is wrong and calls Abigail for help as Nancy’s condition worsens. Nancy is later taken to hospital, where she is left restless following the scare.

Abigail arrives to visit her with a gift basket, showing a warmer side as their friendship continues to develop. However, the scenes also run alongside the increasingly troubling storyline involving Abigail and Dee Dee.

After Dee Dee recently attempted to kiss Abigail, Abigail’s behaviour towards her begins to change. Despite Dee Dee being the one who calls for help when Nancy becomes unwell, Abigail later turns noticeably cold towards her.

The contrast becomes even more uncomfortable when Abigail, now newly appointed as a teacher, gets a nervous Dee Dee to read aloud during English class. With Dee Dee already uneasy around her, the classroom moment adds further tension to their developing dynamic.

For Nancy, the relapse marks another significant chapter in a health storyline that has been part of her character for nearly a decade. At the same time, Abigail’s differing behaviour towards Nancy and Dee Dee adds another unsettling layer to the separate storyline developing around her.
