WLW AI Drama Featherweight Hits 25 Million Views as Virtual Series Finds Huge Audience

An AI-assisted WLW drama has reached more than 25 million views across platforms, showing that audiences are beginning to follow AI-created characters through continuing fictional stories rather than simply watching one-off viral clips.

Featherweight is a cinematic romance-drama created by content creator Vee Camallera, known online as @vee-deezee. The series centres on WLW, meaning women loving women, and GL, or Girls' Love, storylines while using generative AI technology to create its characters, locations and cinematic world.

Rather than traditional live-action filming, Vee uses a combination of AI video generation, rendering and editing tools to build the continuing story.

Featherweight is an ongoing AI drama

That distinction makes Featherweight particularly interesting. This isn't simply a collection of unrelated AI videos using different characters each time.

Vee releases the story episodically, combining longer cinematic rough-cut episodes with shorter teasers revealing what is coming next. Maintaining recognisable characters, locations and visual continuity across those releases is an important part of the production process.

The project has now accumulated more than 25 million views across platforms, according to CapCut. Vee recently demonstrated part of that process at CapCut World in Singapore, where she created a new Featherweight trailer using Director Mode.

Director Mode is part of CapCut Video Studio, a filmmaking workspace that combines tools for developing stories, generating images and video, creating storyboards and editing finished footage.

For the demonstration, Vee developed a storyline involving investigator Daisy and events from her college years. AI systems including GPT and Google's Gemini helped with story development, while other tools were used to generate reusable characters, locations and video.

The creator still controls the characters, story, pacing and individual shots rather than asking AI to produce an entire drama automatically.

Featherweight is also an interesting meeting point between two rapidly developing areas of entertainment. It combines growing LGBTQ+ digital storytelling with generative AI filmmaking, and 25 million views suggests there is already a substantial audience willing to watch.
