But Fernanda believes there is an important limit to what those images can reveal.
“But familiarity isn’t always the same thing as knowing someone.”

Without the written story, viewers may understand what they can see while missing why that particular moment matters.
That gap can actually become part of the appeal. Fernanda has noticed that people naturally begin filling in the spaces themselves, sometimes interpreting Clara or Valerie differently because they have encountered the characters mainly through visuals rather than through the original story.
“Sometimes someone who knows them mostly through the visuals will describe Clara or Valerie in a way that makes me think, ‘That’s interesting… but that’s not quite who she is in the story.’”
Rather than seeing that as a problem, Fernanda finds it fascinating. It demonstrates how strongly context changes our understanding of a character and can encourage viewers to become curious about everything they have not yet been shown.
That means the videos do not need to explain Clara and Valerie completely. A glance, touch or quiet domestic moment can instead raise questions about what the women have experienced together and why certain interactions appear to carry more weight than they initially seem to.
Fernanda hopes that curiosity eventually leads some viewers back to the written story, where the characters’ histories, fears and contradictions can be explored in much greater depth.
