Who is Netty Neal? Meet the creator behind Faceless Design Collective
SoapLandTV speaks exclusively to Faceless Design Collective creator Netty Neal about music, AI, human creativity and the ideas behind the project.
Behind Faceless Design Collective is creator Netty Neal, an electronic artist whose work brings together dance music, visual storytelling, artificial intelligence and a broader creative world built around emotion, identity and technology.
The project was deliberately designed to put the work before the person behind it, but Netty is now becoming more visible as Faceless Design Collective continues to grow.
Speaking exclusively to SoapLandTV, she explained:
“Initially I deliberately stayed behind the curtain… I’ve stepped out from behind that curtain a little more recently.”
That decision makes the name Faceless Design Collective particularly fitting, because the project was never intended to revolve around one conventional artist identity.
Netty explains:
“Faceless Design Collective is a space where I can create without being boxed into one identity, one genre or one medium.”
That freedom allows her to move between electronic and dance music, more atmospheric material, visual ideas, writing and wider storytelling without each part needing to exist separately.
Artificial intelligence also plays a role in the creative process, but Netty is clear that the technology does not replace the human starting point.
“But the starting point remains mine: my words, my raw voice and the emotion behind them,” she told SoapLandTV, making a clear distinction between using AI as part of production and allowing it to generate the creative direction itself.
That balance places Faceless Design Collective in an interesting position within the wider debate around AI-created music. The project openly experiments with emerging tools while still keeping authorship, emotion and creative intent at the centre, with the technology helping shape material that begins with Netty herself.
The project also reaches beyond music. Netty is developing 2084 and the wider 2084: UNOBSERVED concept, which explores artificial intelligence, human behaviour, digital systems and the idea of living in a world where people can increasingly be measured, monitored and predicted through data.
For now, though, the clearest introduction to Faceless Design Collective is the music itself, and one track has already connected the project with a wider LGBTQ+ audience.
“When The Tide Turns” was used during Ana and Noémie’s first kiss in Icebreaker, placing a Faceless Design Collective song at the centre of a major moment in their developing relationship.

Netty had already become invested in the pair’s story, making the placement particularly meaningful.
“Seeing ‘When The Tide Turns’ used for Ana and Noémie’s first kiss was genuinely quite special,” she said, underlining the emotional connection between the track and the scene in which it was used.
That moment highlights one of the strengths of Faceless Design Collective. While technology plays an important role in the creative process, the finished music is ultimately driven by emotion, atmosphere and connection, giving listeners something personal to respond to.
Faceless Design Collective continues to grow as an ambitious creative project bringing together electronic and dance music, visual storytelling and new technology. With Netty developing the music and the wider ideas around FDC, the project has plenty of room to evolve and reach new audiences.
