White Lotus star witnesses horrific attack in gripping new thriller

The White Lotus star Meghann Fahy witnesses a horrifying attack that drags her family back into a 20-year-old nightmare in the first trailer for new thriller The Good Daughter.

Fahy stars opposite Rose Byrne as sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, whose lives were shattered by violence when they were young. Two decades later, both are still dealing with what happened when another attack tears through their hometown.

One new crime unlocks an old nightmare

Charlotte has followed her father Rusty into law and built a career as an attorney, but her carefully reconstructed life begins falling apart when she becomes the first witness at the scene of the new attack.

As the investigation develops, painful memories and long-buried family secrets begin resurfacing. Samantha is drawn back into the past too, forcing the sisters to confront not only what happened to them but how differently they have lived with it ever since.

Brendan Gleeson plays their father, with Olivia Williams, Harper Steele and Michael Dorman also among the cast. Fahy arrives after major roles in The White Lotus, The Perfect Couple and Sirens, while Byrne also serves as an executive producer.

The six-part thriller comes from bestselling author Karin Slaughter, who adapted her own 2017 novel for television and wrote every episode. That means the person responsible for Charlotte and Samantha's original story is also directly controlling how their complicated relationship reaches the screen.

UK viewers will not have long to wait. All six episodes of The Good Daughter arrive on Sky and NOW on 12 November, allowing the entire mystery to be watched immediately rather than released weekly.
