Tyrannus Angel AI Film Awards Reveal 35 Selected Films
Tyrannus Angel AI Film Awards reveal 35 selected films from international creators ahead of their Los Angeles ceremony on 24 October 2026.
The Tyrannus Angel AI Film Awards have revealed 35 selected productions ahead of their 2026 ceremony in Los Angeles, celebrating filmmakers using artificial intelligence to create original screen entertainment.
The awards will be presented on 24 October during AI Film Summit LA, bringing together creators from around the world whose work explores different approaches to AI-assisted filmmaking. The official selection includes productions from the United Kingdom, United States, Taiwan, South Korea, Ukraine and several other countries.
The competition has announced a total prize pool valued at US$50,000 across its categories, with the final recipients yet to be revealed.
Which AI films have been selected?
Among the selected productions is Candy, created by UK filmmaker Jiaze Li, alongside Kami from British filmmakers Dominic Higgins and Ian Higgins.
American filmmaker Sebastian Rangel is represented by Unbreakable, while Taiwanese creator Chao-Hsien Tseng has been selected for Apocalypse Squad.
Another Taiwanese filmmaker, Hsu Tien Hsiang, appears in the programme with If Stars Could Fall, adding to the international range of creators represented.
South Korean filmmaker Wonnam Chai has been selected for Gabbit A Promise Kept, while You-kyeong Hong is represented by The Prompt of Red Snow.
The programme also includes Loud silence by Ukrainian filmmaker Ihor Khoroshylov, INCUBUS by French creator Julien Prevost and The Bin Chicken by Australian filmmaker Sejun Hwang.
These films form part of the official selection, rather than a confirmed list of award winners. The final results will be announced during the Los Angeles ceremony.
What are the Tyrannus Angel Awards?
The competition recognises filmmakers developing stories through generative artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on the creative ideas behind the finished productions.
Its stated aim is to recognise work that offers more than technically impressive images, placing importance on storytelling and the ability to create memorable experiences for audiences.
The 2026 awards include categories for different forms of AI filmmaking, including original, adapted and animated productions.
The organisers have announced a US$50,000 total prize pool across all categories, although that figure should not be interpreted as a guaranteed cash payment to one winning filmmaker.
AI Film Summit LA brings creators together
The awards are being presented as part of AI Film Summit LA, taking place at City Club Los Angeles on Saturday 24 October.
The programme combines film recognition with opportunities for creators, industry professionals and technology developers to meet and discuss AI production.
The event also provides a platform for filmmakers who may not have access to the budgets or resources associated with conventional studio productions.
AI filmmaking can involve different creative methods, including generating visual material, developing animation, creating environments and combining synthetic footage with traditional editing.
The selected productions demonstrate how filmmakers from different countries are experimenting with those techniques while developing their own stories.
Where can audiences discover the films?
The official selection is available online, with individual film titles and creators listed ahead of the ceremony. Several productions also have preview material, allowing audiences to explore the work before the awards are announced.
Viewers can browse the selection through the Tyrannus Angel Awards website, with the winners expected to be announced on 24 October.
For independent AI filmmakers, the awards provide another opportunity to gain recognition for their work and introduce their projects to a wider international audience.
